Climate of France

The north and northwest of France have a temperate climate.
In the south-east France there is a Mediterranean climate.
The climate of the west part of France is mainly oceanic with a lot of rains, mild winters and cool summers.
Inland of France the climate becomes more continental with hot summers, colder winters and less rain.
The climate of the French Alps and other mountainous regions of France are mainly alpine in nature with more than 150 days per year when temperature is below freezing and snow cover is lasting about half a year.
