Costs in Spain

With the introduction of the Euro in 2002, costs in Spain have changed from the days of the peseta. Whilst other countries in the EU have benefited, Spain has seen a slight increase in the cost of living, putting it on a par with the UK. The cost of living in Spain is obviously more expansive if you live in a large city popular with tourists. However, there are some cheap options – watching a film in Spain is only 5 Euros, and coffee can be bought for as little as one Euro. Fruit and vegetables are also quite inexpensive in Spain.
