Customs Formalities in France
The type of customs that you will have to go through when traveling to France will depend on if you are there visiting, are enrolled in school or moving there permanently.
Students will be required to prove that they are signed up for classes in France in order to be able to bring such items that are necessary for school.
People that will be there on a vacation can check with customs to see what is acceptable at the time of their visit, both upon entering France and leaving France.
There are certain items that are duty free and some that can not be transported in or out of the country for various reasons.
When you are moving to France, to bring your personal items, you need to prove that you have owned the items for at least the 6 months prior to moving and that you lived outside of the European Union for the year prior.
