The Cologne Cathedral is the greatest cathedral in Germany, a symbol and central attraction of Cologne,the Rhine metropolis.
The size of The Cologne Cathedral is emphasised by the gigantic pair of towers, which have dominated the panorama of Cologne city since 1880 when the Cologne Cathedral was fully completed.
Today the Cologne Cathedral is the second highest building in Cologne after the telecommunications tower.
The Cologne cathedral with its two spires 157 metres in height, has been Cologne city's most famous landmark for centuries and the most well-known architectural monument in Germany.
